PETE DOHERTY BREAKS HIS PROMISE

Drug wildman Pete Doherty has failed to honor his promise to buy a guitar from a music store where he played an impromptu gig earlier this month.The Babyshambles singer treated shoppers to a performance in a Reading, England music store, but his music-making was cut short after he accidentally broke a string on his guitar. And despite the mishap, it seemed Doherty was impressed with the goods on offer at the Music Man shop - even asking owner Peter Sirrell to leave aside a $300 guitar which he would return to pay for. But the singer has failed to honor his potential purchase, and hasn’t been seen in the store since the mini-gig. Sirrell says, "I’m not surprised he didn’t come back - he didn’t seem too with it (in a fit mental state)."

KELLY OSBOURNE A DRUG ADDICT AT 13

Ozzy Osbourne's daughter Kelly has beaten a decade of drug and alcohol abuse, even though she was an addict as a young 13-year-old.The reality television star admits during her childhood she was at one point was taking up to 100 pills a day, but after three stints in rehab, she is now clean.
But Osbourne insists it was difficult to eventually kick the habit.She says, "All the voices in my head were telling me I was worthless."

Sexy star Orlando Bloom relished being gunged at the 21st Annual Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, because it reinforced why he became an actor. The Hollywood star admitted to feeling "honored" to be covered in slime at the ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday. He told audience members, "This is the whole reason I became an actor."To be part of the greatest celebrity sliming in the history of sliming is an honor." The 31-year-old joined a host of A-listers to be slimed including Harrison Ford, Brendan Fraser and Jack Black.

The couple were seen holding hands and being very friendly. They were accompanied by one of the Jonas Brothers' bodyguards, who shadowed them as they walked together. The pair shopped at several stores and even shared a bag of snacks. After walking up and down the Promenade, the couple strolled back to their car looking as happy as can be.

GEORGE CLOONEY PLANS TO QUIT

Hollywood star George Clooney is planning to walk away from acting before he hits 60, to concentrate on film-making full-time. After finding fame infront of the camera, Clooney has been expanding into writing and directing in recent years, with the Oscar-nominated Good Night, and Good Luck and his new movie Leatherheads. And now the 46-year-old say's he is prepared to make the switch full-time when he’s too old to play leading men anymore. Clooney says, "I certainly would do that with the acting part. "I’m fairly comfortable with the idea of growing into a grey-haired old character actor. But the reason I’m directing and writing is that it’s a world that will allow me to be creative long after people stop wanting to see me in front of a camera."

I never read autobiographies. I hate the whole thing about looking back. It’s just dull. I’d rather look forward. We’re here, we’re doing it. It’s not about why, it’s about ‘this is it.’"

Jones insists she won’t be quitting her jazz career and moving to Tinseltown just yet, but she’d love to slap on some fake blood for a horror film, and she’d even be willing to sing on the soundtrack. The 29-year-old says, "I’m not out to conquer Hollywood. "I would act again if it was something appropriate or something that sounded like fun. "It would be fun to do a zombie movie. Sick Hollywood star Patrick Swayze has taken to the skies and is flying around California to forget his cancer. The award winning actor went public with his pancreatic cancer diagnosis earlier this month, and is currently undergoing treatment. And he’s finding time to get away from his health crisis by taking off for long flights around California and Nevada with his wife Lisa Niemi, according to OK! magazine. As well as flying from their home to Stanford University Medical Center, where Swayze is being treated, the licensed pilot is also enjoying pleasure flights. A source tells the publication that the actor and his wife recently spent 11 hours in their 11-seat Beechcraft Super King Air 200, flying to various sites around California and Nevada. The source says, "Being able to do what they love most, and do it together, is helping them to remain as optimistic as possible."

A Hollywood auction featuring Michael Keaton's Batman costume and dinosaurs from the Jurassic Park movies has proved a huge success and raised a $4.1 million. The 31st Profiles In History auction’s top seller was a rare King Kong six-foot film poster, one of only three known to exist, which sold for $345,000 which was over $100,000 more than the reserve price. Other hits at the event included the Batman costume worn by Keaton in Batman Returns, which was snapped up by a superhero fan for $103,500, with Charles Middleton’s Ming The Merciless cape from 1936 movie classic Flash Gordon selling for $115,000.

KYLIE MINOGUE SETS RECORD STRAIGHT

Singing star Kylie Minogue will not announce her engagement to lover Olivier Martinez during a live concert, according to the event’s organizers. Media outlets in the Czech Republic have been speculating the sexy star will announce the news at a concert in Prague on May 12th, because she asked for an "unusually high" number of tickets for family and friends. However, concert organizer Jarda Hainzel insists she has been misquoted. She says, "When contacted by local media regarding the Kylie concert in Prague, I commented that the number of requests for tickets for this show was more than normal, which I take as an indication of Kylie’s popularity in Czech Republic."At no stage did I speculate on Kylie’s personal relationships or on any announcement she may or may not make on the night."We do believe this will be a special show, as it is Kylie’s first concert in our country, and I am very much looking forward to meeting her, however we have no reason to believe there is to be any special announcement during the concert."

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE HIRED FOR ESPN

Award winning singer Justin Timberlake has been hired to present network ESPN’s annual ESPY Awards. The ceremony aims to celebrate the best and funniest sporting moments over the year, and Timberlake is nervous at the prospect of messing up at the awards show. He says, "I’ll do my best to deliver a great show, as I do not want to be roughed up backstage by these athletes who are bigger, faster and stronger than me." But Sheen wants to give his girl a dream ceremony, and she is busy planning the happy nuptials. She tells OK! magazine, "I don’t know the specifics of it yet, but I think a beach setting is beautiful for a wedding. We want to keep it relatively small and private. I want to remember the day. "I went to the Monique Lhuillier store to look for wedding dresses the other day, and I saw some that I liked." Mueller is keen to have kids with Sheen, and is currently testing out her mothering skills on the actor’s two daughters with ex-wife Denise Richards, Sam, three and Lola, two. She says, "I think I’ll be more knowledgeable. I want a couple of children at least."
