The superstar was a guest on the program on Tuesday to promote her new single, "I Stay in Love." But the cozy chat soon became uncomfortable for Carey, when funny woman DeGeneres popped open a bottle of champagne in a mock pregnancy celebration. And the very stunned superstar, who recently was insisting she would keep any baby news secret, fueled more rumors she was pregnant with husband Nick Cannon's child when she refused to drink the alcoholic drink. A shocked Carey said, "I can't believe you did this to me, Ellen. This is peer pressure!" But DeGeneres didn't let the issue go, asking the Grammy-winner again if she was with child, to which Carey replied, "I can't believe her. ... I didn't say that. No, no, no. My mother would be at home like, on the computer like, 'What are you talking about?' We will let you know when we're going to have a family."

Former reality show star Paris Hilton is confirming that she and boyfriend Benji Madden have broken up. Paris appeared on good friend Ryan Seacrest's radio show in Los Angeles California on Friday morning and revealed she and the rocker were "taking a break" after nine months. Hilton said, "We're really good friends. We're very close. ... I love him, he's such an amazing man. He's my best friend, he's been so great to me, so loyal. He's an incredible person."I think right now we're both better off as friends. We're both working so much; I've been traveling, he's been working non-stop in the studio."And Hilton was eager to clear up reports she ended the romance: "There's all these reports that I dumped Benji; that's not true. KYLIE MINOGUE HEADLINES IN DUBAI

Pop singing star Kylie Minogue headlined a spectacular $30 million mega-party in front an array of Hollywood stars at the opening of the multi-billion dollar Atlantis Palms Hotel in Dubai. The Australian singer was reportedly paid $2.25 million to perform a 10-song set on Friday as A-list guests including Robert De Niro, Charlize Theron, Janet Jackson, Denzel Washington and Dame Shirley Bassey watched. Oysters, lobster and Champagne were laid on for the 2,000-strong guests at the new ocean-themed resort located on the man-made Palm Jumeirah island. The party also featured the world's largest ever fireworks show that was visible from space, with a million fireworks set off to signal the launch of the monster hotel.

SINGING STAR MADONNA GETS DIVORCE

Pop singing star Madonna and Guy Ritchie's divorce has been finalized following a hearing in London today. The British director and the Material Girl, who announced their separation last month, were granted a decree nisi by a judge at the clinical Principal Registry of the Family Division of the High Court in High Holburn, London. The couple will reportedly share joint custody of their sons, Rocco, 8, and David, 3, who they adopted from Malawi in 2006. The boys will split their time between Madonna in the U.S. and Ritchie in the U.K. Madonna's daughter Lourdes, 12, will live with her mother, because she is the singer's daughter from a previous relationship with Carlos Leon. Madonna and Ritchie wed at Skibo Castle in the Highlands of Scotland in 2000. The marriage will be officially dissolved in six weeks time when they will be granted a decree absolute.

The show will be based off of the movie of the same name that starred Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger. But the real story is based off of William Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew.” Meaghan and Lindsay will play sisters who are the exact opposite of each other - Bianca (Meaghan) is a social butterfly and Kat (Lindsay) is a strong-willed feminist.

Ethan Peck, grandson of Hollywood legend Gregory Peck, will play Patrick, a new, mysterious student who frustrates and intrigues Kat from a distance.

Nicholas Braun takes the role of Cameron, another classmate who is head-over-heels for Bianca and Kyle Kaplan will play his friend, Michael.

The new series is expected to debut in 2009.

What I was implying was that the songs I sing about, the boys who have hurt me or that are no longer in my life don't deserve a song to be written about them but, that's impossible. Kanye West has defended his right to protect his "personal space" after he was arrested in Newcastle, England, on Friday for allegedly assaulting a celebrity snapper. West was involved in a scuffle with a paparazzo as he exited the city's Tup Tup club in the early hours of the morning. Photographer Terry Blackburn claimed to have suffered a cut face and bruising after West allegedly pushed his camera into his face. Local police later arrived at West's hotel in nearby Gateshead and detained him on assault charges. He was quizzed by cops but was subsequently released without charge.And West denies he lashed out at the snapper, insisting it was the commotion surrounding his appearance which got the photographer hurt.He explains in his official blog, "Here's what happened ... when I left the club, I was encountered by a thirsty paparazzi as usual. He felt he had more rights to my space than me, so I put my hand up to prevent him from taking my image."I didn't assault him but merely put my hand up to cover his lens. My security yelled, 'Get the camera off him.' I guess in all the commotion the camera scraped his nose."West and his assistant were arrested over a similar incident at Los Angeles' LAX airport in September. The pair was charged with felony vandalism after reportedly smashing a snapper's camera, but the charges were later dropped by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.

American Idol's Simon Cowell and Terry Seymour have sat down for their first television interview since their breakup earlier this month. The music icon agreed to appear alongside his ex on "Extra," that features Seymour's reports. And Cowell has confessed he was the one who was ditched. He says, "Terri decided to dump me. ... You sent me a text." But Seymour insists she and her ex are still the "best of friends" and it was just time to end the romance: "We had a great six years." The couple still talks daily. Cowell adds, "I do call Terri, first, when I've got an issue or I'm moaning about something, or I want to bounce an idea off."And Seymour agrees, "We do speak more now on the phone all the time. The host of the long running Jerry Springer Show and Americas Got Talent was all smiles as he put his hand prints in cement at the famed Times Square location. Hoards of television crews as well as the infamous paparazzi were on hand to capture this great event.

HEATHER MILLS TROUBLED OVER POOL

Superbitch Heather Mills is defending her decision to build a swimming pool without getting town permission at her English country home by claiming it could be used to put out fires.The mean ex-wife of rocker Sir Paul McCartney allegedly re-did her property in Sussex, England, after winning $38 million in their divorce settlement earlier this year. Heather was said to have forgotten to ask for planning permission before building the pool and might have to get rid of it if her retrospective request is denied. Members of Mills' local council will meet next month to debate whether she can keep the feature. However her spokesperson has argued local services could use it to battle fires, saying, "In an emergency, it could be used by the fire brigade (to put out a blaze)."

So, her best friend is Selena Gomez and her “boys” are the Jonas Brothers, but there’s much more to Demi Lovato than the singing-and-acting sensation made famous by Camp Rock and her debut album, Don’t Forget.

The 16-year-old beauty, who can’t live without her BlackBerry, has a dog named Bailey and is the middle child of two sisters, ages 20 and 6. Her full name is Demetria, her nickname is Dem, and she doesn’t remember the last time she was grounded. “My parents and I are very close,” she says. “It’s been a long time.”

What’s her tour must-have?

“It’s a blow-dryer for my hair. When I get offstage, I’m sweating like a dog, so I’ll probably need to blow-dry my hair because it’ll be wet.”

She calls out Hayley Williams of Paramore as her fashion plate. “She has great style in her videos. I look up to her.” She tells me she hopes to be “the girl version of the Jonas Brothers” in the style department, but beautywise she looks no further than her mirror.

“I like to try and emphasize what I have, and not really look at other people,” she says.

But Demi isn’t shy about giving props to her Disney Channel role models.

“Definitely Hilary Duff because she carried out a great career and she’s still going. And Christina Aguilera. She was on Mickey Mouse Club, and look at her now. She’s gotten so far.”

What does Demi want to be when she grows up?

“When I really, really grow up, I would like to continue this and also work as a director and continue writing.”

CHARLIZE THERON SETTLES WATCH SUIT

Hollywood star Charlize Theron has settled a $20 million lawsuit with the luxury watchmaker that accused her of breach of contract. Bosses at Swiss company Raymond Weil claimed they paid Theron the sum to wear its watches exclusively between October 2005 and December 2006. According to court documents, Theron broke their agreement when she "was actually photographed wearing a watch from the Christian Dior line" at a press event in Austin on March 14th. The following month, Theron modeled a Montblanc watch on a billboard at a Swiss trade show.Company executives added the violations "demonstrate a total disregard by (Theron) for any of her obligations under the agreement."The settlement follows her lawyers' failed attempts to have the case dismissed.New court documents filed in Manhattan Federal Court reveal the suit will be tossed when it is finalized within 30 days.Terms of the settlement in the have not been disclosed.

Former X-Files stars David Duchovny and Tea Leoni are sparking media reports of a reconciliation less than a month after separating.The former happy couple announced their split in October after 11 years of marriage, just one week after Duchovny checked out of a rehab clinic in Arizona following completion of treatment for sex addiction. The couple had been separated "for several months," but opted to keep the news private for the sake of their two kids, Madelaine, 9, and Kyd, 6, according to a statement from their representatives. But new reports of a reconciliation ignited when they were reportedly seen celebrating Halloween together on New York's Upper East Side on Friday night. A source tells the New York Post the pair "looked very mellow and relaxed," as they took their kids trick-or-treating.The source adds, "They were very cute and were holding hands." The Secret life of ... Disney star Selena Gomez!

Selena Gomez doesn't want to talk about whether or not she's dating Nick Jonas (though she most recently denied it -- again -- to reporters.) But it's hard to blame the 16-year-old star of Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place" for wanting to downplay her personal life when her brand is booming. She's busy working on a new album for next year and running her just-unveiled production company, July Moon Productions. And while she won't be voting in today's presidential election, Gomez has spent the last half of 2008 encouraging teens to get involved in politics, as the national spokesperson for the organization Ur Vote Counts.

"We prepare them for the election as though they were going to vote, talking to them about issues like national security, the economy and education," Gomez said. "When I thought about the fact that I'd be voting in two years I freaked. I wanted to prepare myself. What's awesome is I can get other kids involved as well."

During some rare free time, Gomez talked about being in the limelight, the first time she got recognized in public, and the one thing she likes to do all by herself.

Do you read the tabloids?

Recently, I have not. I'm actually very, very proud of myself. Honestly, the blog sites and everything -- I'd be on them nonstop. I've gone four weeks total without looking at them and I'm very proud and very happy. I was addicted. It was bad.

Do you mind being in the tabloids?

Regardless how much someone says, 'I don't believe what they say,' people do. I'm a person, and I have feelings. I love what I do, and I want to do this the rest of my life, but I do not want it to run my life.

Unfortunately, sometimes [celebrities] let the media control their life. I've seen that happen. It's not fun for me.

What was it like the first time you got recognized in public?

I actually got recognized for being on 'The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.' I was 13, and I only did one episode and had maybe seven lines total, and this little girl recognized me and I thought it was the weirdest thing. I remember back then my signature was totally like my full name and I took my time to write it all out. Now, I can't even understand what I write when I sign autographs.

After getting that first fat paycheck, what was your first big splurge?

I spent $200 on a phone. Made me nauseous. But I really wanted it. It was a present for someone.

What's the best thing about being a star?

That I'm able to use my voice for good. That I am able to use my status to my advantage.

Who is your career role model?

Rachel McAdams. I absolutely look up to her in every way possible because she's made so many wonderful decisions. I think it's wonderful that she spreads herself out. You notice that she reinvents herself in every character that she portrays. You don't see her playing one role over and over.

What makes you cry?

Thinking about home. I'm from Texas, and I don't get to go home often. I miss the normality and also that it's not so populated. I'm from a small town, and I still love going home and being able to drive at 7 in the morning and there not be any traffic. And I miss my family. They're the reason I am the person I am today.

What's the last song that you downloaded to your iPod?

"You're Not Sorry" by Taylor Swift.

What was the first movie you ever saw?

The first movie I remember seeing was "Alice in Wonderland." That and "The Wizard of Oz" are the reason I wanted to be actress. Judy Garland was my role model when I was like 6.

What song do you like to sing in the shower?

"Cry" by Mandy Moore. I loved "A Walk to Remember." I had such a huge crush on Shane West. So I was obsessed and [the soundtrack songs] "Only Hope" and "Cry" were my jams.

What's your favorite thing to do all by yourself?

I love oil painting. It's a bummer I don't get to do it as much as I'd like. I love to paint when I'm back home.

If you could change one thing about being famous, what would it be?

That the press wasn't so important. I think a lot of celebrities would agree with me on that. Or that they'd focus on all the great things in people's lives rather than all the unimportant or bad things.

What's the biggest misconception about you?

Thank goodness, there isn't none yet. It's good right now, but everyone's telling me, 'Just wait.' So I'm waiting for my big one.

Hello Everybody-- November 2nd

I know it has been too long since I have been on here. A lot of stuff has been going on and I have not had a whole lot of time to get on here to fill you guys in. As some of you may already know I was in New York for Trick or Treat for Unicef, which is a great program educating kids to help other kids in other parts of the world, I know it may be a little late for Halloween but, check out the site and be ready for next year. http://youth.unicefusa.org/trickortreat/

I have also been back and forth to New York for a few talk shows Rachel Ray, The View, The Today Show. I LOVE New York, it is such a great city the energy is amazing. I will be going to Dallas this upcoming weekend to help support my cousins cheerleading charity event. I can't wait to see all my friends and family from back home, it has been far too long since I have been home.

Also, last night I went to the Jason Mraz concert at the Greek Theater, by far one of the best concerts I have ever been to, he is amazing. If you have not already gotten his new album be sure to go pick up a copy and one of my favorites songs is "Lucky". I cannot even explain what a great show it was I was so happy to have been there.

Well I am finally 16 as some of you may know but, still no license not even a permit yet but...... I will be taking my drivers education test at the DMV November 4th. Wish me luck, I am nervous. When I pass I will have my permit and then have to drive around with my Mom and step Dad for 6 months before I get my actual license, I am guessing I will be 30 by the time I get it.

I cannot wait for the Holidays, I will be spending Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years with my family. The Holidays were cut short last year because of Another Cinderella Story shooting but, this year I have nothing in the way. I can't wait. My favorite time of year Fall to Christmas!

Sorry again it has been so long.
