Singing star Madonna initially didn't like the prospect of her upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, because she was scared she would be thought of as a "musical dinosaur". The material girl was hesitant about receiving the tribute, which will see her 25-year musical career celebrated in New York this month. But the icon now accepts that being selected for the prize honoring legendary performers chosen by a more than 700 rock experts - is in fact hugely "flattering".The Music singer says, "I heard about it and I kind of felt ambivalent, like, ‘What is that, the place they put musical dinosaurs?’ "I didn’t really know what to think of it. But then lots of people explained to me that it’s an acknowledgement of singers and songwriters who have made a contribution in the world of music for 25 years, and so eventually I came around to the idea that it was flattering."
