Doctors treating Australian singer Kylie Minogue initially misdiagnosed the icon after failing to spot that she was suffering from breast cancer. The 39-year-old began feeling unwell while she was in the middle of the Australian leg of her 2005 Show Girl tour. Minogue saw a doctor and went straight back to work after being told she was in great health. But after several weeks, the singer later found a suspicious lump in her breast and, after consulting a different doctor, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Following a rough year of treatment, Minogue has now made a full recovery, but the experience has made her aware that medical tests are not always right. During an appearance on television star Ellen DeGeneres' talk show, the star urged other women to get a second opinion from their doctor if they suspect they might have the same condition. She says, "Because someone is in a white coat and using big medical instruments doesn't necessarily mean they're right. I don't want to say that to frighten people but that's just a fact."I had just had a mammogram and they didn't find anything and a couple of weeks later I found a lump. You must follow your intuition and if you have any doubt go back again."
