The following video isn't one of Craig Charles literally on crack - though his many small nervous movements might lead you to believe that. It's one of Charles talking about his harrowing experiences with the drug; experiences that lead him to the brink of suicide, and into the UK's notorious Priory Recovery Center.
Drugs are the plague of the celebrity community. Even on this very blog pictures of an emaciated Mischa Barton have been posted - looking as if she were ready for the mortuary slab. Why do they do it?? Well here's a frank discussion about drug use by Craig Charles - star of Red Dwarf and Coronation Street.
You can tell that he's on the level by his constant twitching and fighting. Also when he says debated suicide, he means that he actually got to the point of formulating a plan! It was the old garden hose in the exhaust pipe routine. There have been more automobile related deaths that anyone ever suspected. At least he had an exhaust pipe to run a hose through. Others, in our more desperate moments, have had no better option than to run head first, and at full speed, toward the nearest available wall! Hang in there kiddo! As they say in the recovery movement - "Rock bottom is only the beginning". Hardly seems worth it.
We can only hope that Christian Bale wasn't under the influence when he went off on hapless that hapless photography director!
Incidentally Charles will be reprising his Red Dwarf character for an upcoming Easter Special.
There's lots of shitty characters and lots of dirty deals - but that's life in the fast lane. It's a losing proposition, but one they don't refuse.
