Just how bad is Jodie Sweetin's drug problem? According to one 'friend' - Matthew Fashion - it's brought her close to death on at least one occasion. In an interview with the National Enquirer, Fashion tells of the night that Sweetin stopped breathing, and of how her now estranged husband, Cody Herpin, brought her back to life.
Fashion claims to have done illicit drugs with Sweetin numerous times. This particular incident occurred in a seedy downtown LA bar, back in 2007. Fashion claims that he accompanied Sweetin in to the ladies room to snort cocaine off of the toilet seat. "I know it sounds disgusting," Fashion explains, "but when you're hooked ion drugs it doesn't matter where you do them. It only matters that you find a way to do them."
Sweetin continued making trips to the washroom through out the evening. Finally her husband called her on it - asking her directly if she was doing drugs. High on coke and drunk to boot, Sweetin denied it and flew into a rage. She then stormed out of the bar and drove away. It would be several hours later before they found out what had happened to Sweetin. Herpin received a phone call informing him that Sweetin had crashed a house party.
"When we arrived at the house," Fashion reveals, "we found Jodie passed out in a bedroom. She was barely coherent and she'd vomited in the adjacent bathroom." Herpin grabbed her by the arm and began gently shaking her, to try and wake her. Sweetin opened her eyes, and begin telling Herpin that she loved him and that she was sorry for messing up. Then she started having convulsions and stopped breathing.
"We probably should've phoned 911, but we were too scared of getting busted." Fashion explains. He then goes on to describe how Herpin saved his wife's life by administering CPR. "Cody started yelling 'Wake Up, Wake Up' but she wasn't breathing. He immediately started pushing her chest and miraculously she came around." Sweetin would stop breathing several more times during the next few hours, with Herpin administering CPR each time.
Now this incident occurred in 2007, while Sweetin maintains that she's been clean since 2005, when she entered rehab to beat methamphetamine addiction. Fashion himself claims to have done drugs with Sweetin "more times than I can count". By drugs he means specifically cocaine, ecstasy, and meth. The incident in 2007 occurred only three months before Sweetin gave an anti drug speaking tour of American high schools. Fashion can't say whether Sweetin is currently using, but does say that he has seen her loose control many times, and that he would fear for the safety of her daughter Zoie, should Sweetin gain full custody.
