Headcase has a theory - 'It's always the one you least suspect'?
Now quiet Sarasota Florida isn't the sort of place that you'd expect to find bizarre drama. However a recent Sarasota City Commission meeting produced an occurrence that could be called highly unusual. Part of the reason is that the county of Casey Key is associated with Sarasota, and author Stephen King is probably Casey Key's most famous resident. Now that alone doesn't provide the drama. The drama comes in the form of one Mr Steve Lightfoot. Lightfoot owns a website called LennonMurderTruth.com, and he maintains that King is the person who is really responsible for the murder of John Lennon. During the last City Commission meeting, Lightfoot took the opportunity provided by an open floor to publicize his theories. I suppose they're not interested in why the moon landing was faked out of Area 51 either! Conspiracist Lightfoot was graciously escorted to the door by the Chief of Police, after council members assured him that Casey Key was not part of Sarasota, and that the murder of John Lennon was outside their jurisdiction. So while the public officials down in Sarasota continue chasing stray dogs and writing parking tickets that leaves the good gentleman to pursue his theories on the Internet. It's the last refuge of the lunatic fringe (believe me! I'm making myself quite at home). Meanwhile that leaves Stephen King free to lambaste Stephanie Twilight Meyer!
