Monday Morning Round up

Love is never saying sorry; culpability is never saying what you're sorry for

Chris Brown has broken his silence with a statement on 'the incident'. "Words can not express how sad and sorry I am over what transpired." Brown says, and then goes on, " I am seeking the counselling of my pastor, mother, and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person." So now God is involved; he must really be desperate. Desperate or not he still picked his words carefully, referring to the 'alleged' beating as "what transpired". Confession may be good for the soul, but it'll kill you in  court of law! I'll give him  this though, for a guy who said 'words can not express...' he didn't seem to be at a loss for them. CB may have discovered an untapped genius for public relations!

Big Me

Speaking of desperation, Jessica Simpson recently gave a concert in Rochester, and there was more babbling about Tony Romo. Says Jess about her Mr Sunday, "I'm celebrating the life I'm living right now. Somebody came into my life and made me see myself in the best possible mirror". That must be a mirror that makes you look 20 pounds thinner. Simpson has also admitted to frequently splitting her pants onstage. She also claims that she is comfortable with her new found curves and wants to celebrate her fuller figure. Finally she claims that she is gonna lose 20 pounds in 6 weeks. Now that's a lot on her agenda! I'd say she's bitten off more than she can chew except it doesn't look like she's had a problem with that lately!

We're really like this, especially when awards are handed out!

Kate Winslet must really want that Oscar bad because she's still invoking Leo DiCaprio as a pseudo husband. The pair became an iconic couple in Titanic. They recently worked together again in Revolutionary Road. Milking it for what it's worth PR-wise, Kate insists that she enjoys working with Leo because she trusts him implicitly. She also claims that they developed a 'secret language' while working together which allowed them to film difficult scenes with more intimacy.

She's gonna need some positive spin too because Jewish groups are up in arms over her film The Reader. They claim that it makes war criminals seem sympathetic by portraying them as illiterate child molesters - it's complicated. The backlash is so well organized that the film's director Steven Daldry got booed at a recent appearance. So Kate's portrayal of an illiterate mass murdering child seducer might play against her when the academy goes to voting.

Finally there is an online petition to retire the Joker from future Batman movies. It was set up by a group of Heath Ledger fans who feel that the late actor's portrayal of the comic book heavy was definitive, and can not be improved upon. It already has over 18 000 signatures. If you wish to add yours then head over to UltimateJoker.

Looking for a game you can play with your cat?? Probably not, but here's one anyway.
