Can you say "Spin off"?
JK Rowling has made a ton out of her 7 or so Harry Potter books. The only question is "can she keep it going?" Well Rowling fans will be relieved, or not, to hear that she has another project in the works. Tentatively called "Welcome Back Potter" it features Harry's return to Hogworts as a teacher, of the special class. Now this might sound a little flaky but Rowling insists that it's developing nicely. In fact she even has some preliminary dialogue penned like such as "Mr Potter, maybe you can help Horseshack conjure up a date to the prom!"Remedial wizards & magic for dummies
Old favourites will be returning too. For instance Harry's side kick has also returned as his new nemesis, Vice Principle Weasley. As the voice of authority Vice Principle Weasley attempts to give Harry a hard time, which Harry responds to with now characteristic humour:Vice Principle Weasley" I've got my eye on you Potter, you and your Worthogs!
Mr Potter: Mr Weasley, I think I know where you left your magic wand!
Vice Principle Weasley: Huh?
Mr Potter: It's stuck up your ass!
Vice Principle Weasley: You're an animal Potter, an animal!
In fact JK is currently trolling around for an actor to play her new character the Worthog heart throb. It has to be some one who can do the following dialogue:
Mr Potter: Vinnie, where's your homework assignment?
Vinnie: I couldn't do it because I was cursed.
Mr Potter: Cursed?
Vinnie: Yeah, I was cursed with charisma. The cheerleaders wanted me to show them a trick with my magic wand!
Mr Potter: Okay Fonzie, settle down or I'll tell the class a joke.
Vinnie: Then you'd better cast a laughing spell first!
Emma Watson fans will be interested to know that she's book to return in the role of Mrs Potter. It's an important role because Harry has to tell her lame jokes, like the following:
Harry: Hermoine, did I ever tell you about the time that a priest, and minister, and a rabbi walked into a seance?
Hermione: Ooooh Harry, that is so politically incorrect!
JK is very excited about the idea. She says that it has a great retro angle to it. Speaking as some one who is not I fan of the novels or the movies I have to say that I'm excited too. however this might be more of a TV thing, than a big screen venture. Good luck JK!Happy Daze!
