Blogger Interview x11 - Julie from Musings of a Make Up Maniac

Hey guys!

The next lovely girl to be interviewed for my blogger interview series was Julie, from her fantastic blog 'Musings of a Make Up Maniac'!

Julie's blog is a favourite of mine, and her amazing beauty posts always have me hooked and wanting to read more! I was delighted that she very kindly agreed to take part in the series!

On to interview...

1. When did you start blogging and what made you create one?
I started my blog at the end of last summer when I was bored was going through a tough time. After having read so many blogs for months, it was a great escape and a way for me to add my two cents! I started it for me, never told anyone and never expected anyone to read it. But slowly, a few did and it was great to talk to people who had the same interests instead of boring my friends by non-stop talking about products!

2. What do you enjoy blogging about?
A bit of everything really, I love beauty and make up so it would mostly be that but I like to write about fashion, life and things like that too!

3. What sort of blogs do you enjoy reading?
A mix of everything. I love beauty blogs but my favourites are ones about anything at all that have beautiful photographs. I find them really interesting and inspirational! I also love ones that don't follow a pattern, I find them a bit forced; I love spontaneous posts and ones that are a bit different than your average review or tutorial!

4. Name some of your favourite blogs...
I love Zoe's blog Zoella,  Llymlrs and Buy Now Blog Later, but I read so so many and really enjoy peoples opinions! I spend so much of my time reading other people's blogs because its great to get ideas, or hear their views and
snoop a bit into their lives!!

5. Apart from blogging, what do you enjoy doing? (hobbies, clubs, etc.)
I love make up artistry and reading make up books, watching tutorials on youtube and reading! I'm about to start studying make up artistry and am so thrilled I'm finally doing it!

6. What are your favourite make-up brands?
Laura Mercier is my ultimate favourite brand and would love to work for them someday. I also love Bobbi Brown and a few things from MAC.

7. Any top beauty tips you'd like to share?
Always, ALWAYS cleanse your face! I did a beauticians course and while I learned so many things, that is the one that has always stuck in my mind. If you have good skin, everything looks good on you!

8. If you could only wear one piece of makeup for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Eeek. That is such a tough one! But I would say foundation. I have high pigmentation on my cheeks and am always trying to cover it up! But I also wouldn't be able to live without mascara or eyeshadow either!

9. Do you have a favourite shop?
For clothes, I love All Saints. Every single thing in there I would love to buy, their pieces are so quirky and different. While they are slightly more expensive than other brands, I really like their uniqueness! For make up, I love the department stores that have lots of different brands, but I prefer to shop online - it diminishes the stress and I hate trying on clothes!

10. Do you have a favourite piece of clothing/outfit, if so what?
I have an All Saints dress that has exposed shoulders, its so easy to wear and both dress up or wear casually! Its a really nice earthy colour and if I can never find anything else to wear, I just throw it on!

11. If you could go on a holiday anywhere you wanted, right now, where would you go?
I would go back to Dubai. i went last summer with my best friend and we had the best time ever. There are so many different malls, the weather is amazing and the buildings are beautiful too! Although I probably wouldn't want to live there forever, I'd love to go back there for a longer time!

12. What do you think the most important thing in life is?
Happiness, definitely. I always think you should do everything in your power to be happy, no matter what it is. Because if you're not happy, there's no point in bothering!

Just a quick update to let you all know that I am going away to France with my school for activities week tomorrow morning and won't be back till Friday night! I've set up some scheduled posts so that the blog doesn't feel empty when I'm back, but I thought I'd let you know if you wonder why I'm not on twitter, or replying to comments or emails!

Have a nice week, and I hope you enjoy the upcoming posts!
