They rushed me to the hospital. They drilled a hold in my head and wrapped a coil around my brain so it wouldn’t bleed anymore." Garr, who also suffers from Multiple Sclerosis, spent a week in a coma and then two months learning to walk and to speak once again. She credits her love of swimming for her fast recovery. She adds, "I think that’s the answer to keep everything moving."

PARIS HILTON NOT ALLOWED TATTOO

Television reality star and socialite Paris Hilton has been banned from getting a tattoo by her Good Charlotte boyfriend Benji Madden, because he wants her to remain "pure". Paris reveals, that Madden is planning to have an image of her etched on his heavily-tattooed torso. But Hilton isn’t allowed to return the compliment. She explains, "He is going to get one of me but he won’t let me get one. He doesn’t like tattoos on women. He thinks I look pure." Paris is really turning into a nice person.

AFRICA CHANGES ACTOR BEN AFFLECK

Hollywood star Ben Affleck's recent humanitarian mission in Africa’s Democratic Republic of Congo has left the movie actor a very changed man. Affleck has made three trips to Africa in the last eight months, but his most recent visit, which was filmed for a short documentary, was his most harrowing as he met with refugees who had been driven out of their homes by war lords in the torn region. Affleck says, "They’re literally in a living hell and these are teachers, farmers, real, regular people like you and I. "People came through shooting guns and kicking doors down and burning houses and raping women and they had to run for their lives." The growing turmoil in Africa’s Congo region has been called one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises this century. Conflicts in the area have caused the death of more than four million people - more than have died in any battle since World War II. Affleck’s video-documented journey debuted yesterday on ABC's Nightline.

Dead Hollywood star Heath Ledger and special effects technician Conway Wickliffe will be remembered in a special dedication at the end of the new Batman movie The Dark night. After the credits roll on the upcoming film, a message reading, "In memory of our friends Heath Ledger & Conway Wickliffe" will appear on the screen. Ledger, who plays The Joker in the film died from an accidental drug overdose last January and Wickliffe lost his life in a stunt accident last year.

Hollywood icon Michael Caine is vowing never to ride a horse again, after his friend Christopher Reeve was left paralysed following an accident. The actor confesses he was a terrible rider anyway, and was lucky to escape unharmed during a horse-riding scene in 1970 film The Last Valley.
But he instructed his agent to reject all horse-based movies after Reeve’s tragic fall in 1995, which left the Superman severely paralysed and wheelchair-bound for the rest of his life. He died in 2004 from his injuries. Caine says, "I am absolutely useless. I act as though I can ride. In The Last Valley, I led a charge. If I’d have come off, they’d have all run over me. "But since Chris Reeve, I say, ‘If there’s a horse in the script, don’t even send it to me’. I’m never getting on a horse again."

Mitch Winehouse now reveals the 24-year-old is responding very well to her treatment. He says, "Amy really hasn’t got emphysema. There’s traces of emphysema. Obviously, if she doesn’t quit smoking, it’s gonna get worse. "She’s smothered in nicotine patches. She’s responding brilliantly to treatment. She’s actually flourishing." He also confirmed she will be well enough to sing at the famous Glastonbury Festival in south west England this weekend. "She really wants to do the gigs at the weekend, and with the doctors’ permission, she’s gonna perform." Dr. Keith Prowse, chairman of the British Lung Foundation, has meanwhile confirmed to the BBC that Winehouse is showing signs of emphysema more than 20 years before it normally affects people. He says, "Emphysema is extremely common but it generally affects middle-aged and elderly people. Smoking is the commonest cause, and it’s basically destruction of the lungs so that oxygen cannot get into them."

Billy Bob Thornton is denying published reports that he dismissed Angelina Jolie's relationship with Brad Pitt as a "high school phase." The Hollywood actor was quoted in an interview with AskMen.com, saying, "She is just going through a high school phase. You know, dating the quarterback of the football team with Brad Pitt over there. She'll be waking up from that dream in no time." In the new television ad, the Hollywood actress, a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Refugee Agency, describes the hardship millions of refugees face when their country is at war. As video footage of their plight is played, Jolie says, "They have survived the war, they have survived displacement, they have survived rape, they have survived hunger and disease. For those who have survived and for those who did not, we are thinking of you on this day." The clip began airing online on Wednesday morning in preparation of World Refugee Day on June 20th.

Toxic Britney Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline has been named Father of the Year for the second time in six months.The latest honor is bestowed upon the dancer-turned-rapper by Las Vegas club Prive, and the honor will be handed out when Federline hosts a party there on June 13, two days before Father's Day.He was previously given the title by Details magazine last November.Federline currently enjoys custody of his two sons with Spears, Sean Preston, 2 and Jayden James, 1.

BRITNEY SPEARS NOT FIT FOR COURT

Toxic Britney Spears is still not fit to participate in legal matters concerning her estate, according to the star's lawyer. The former singer was committed to a psychiatric facility earlier this year to be treated for her bi-polar disorder. Her dad, Jamie, was subsequently appointed conservator of her legal and financial affairs. Britney was also stripped of custody of her two children, but she has since made good progress and has been granted limited access to Jayden James and Sean Preston as part of her ongoing custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline. But a Los Angeles California court heard last week, that the star is still not well enough to participate in any legal proceedings. Her attorney told the court that her doctor hopes to carry out "additional testing in the not-too-distant future."Her father's legal team is expected to file a business plan for Spears' estate by June 13.

CHARLIE SHEEN WANTS TO HAVE A SON

Television star Charlie Sheen is desperate to have more children. Charlie and fiance Brooke Mueller will begin trying for a child after they got married over the weekend. The actor, who walked down the aisle with Mueller in Los Angeles California on Saturday, is already father to daughters: Cassandra, 23, by ex Paula Profit, as well as Sam, 4, and Lola Rose, 3, by former wife Denise Richards. But Sheen, 42, allegedly is praying for a boy to add to his brood of daughters, according to the New York Post's gossip column Page Six. Asked if they were trying to start a family, Sheen's representative Stan Rosenfield said to the New York Daily News: "That's often what people do when they get married."

VIEWERS MAD AT REALITY'S DINA LOHAN

Viewers of Dina Lohan's new reality Television show, which premiered on E! last weekend, have complained after Dina, Lindsay Lohan's mother and manager, was seen watching a sex tape. In "Living Lohan," Dina is seen watching a sex tape of a look-a-like of her daughter Lindsay, when her 14-year-old daughter Ali walks in and asks, "Is that Lindsay?"But the footage riled viewers and many have expressed their outrage in various Internet chat rooms. One wrote, "Last time I checked, allowing a child to watch porn is against the law."Another asked, "Does anyone besides me think it's weird that Dina showed her daughter (such images)?" Pat Truman, the former Justice Department Chief of the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, tells New York gossip column Page Six: "It's inappropriate but probably not illegal. If there was a situation where a mother was regularly exposing her child to pornography, it would be a concern for state child welfare agencies."
